The Morehead City (N.C.) Police officer wounded in an accidental shooting at a training exercise has been taken off a respirator and his condition upgraded to fair, reports the Daily News .
Officer Garrett Hardin, 22, remains in fair condition Monday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. He was taken to the hospital following the Oct. 2 shooting.
During a training exercise, Officer Hardin was shot in the chest by Officer Marvin Willis III. He was not wearing his ballistic vest.
