A woman has filed a petition and affidavit for an extreme risk protection order (ERPO) against the Colorado State University police officer who fatally shot her son in 2017.
According to Fox News, filing such paperwork requires that the person submitting the request must be related to the owner of the firearm.
The documents reveal that the woman—identified as Susan Holmes—claims that she has a child in common with Officer Phillip Morris, who fired the fatal shots that killed Holmes' son, Jeremy when he charged at officers armed with a large edged weapon.
Two officers were shot in Gainesville, Florida, by a man who police say was leaving an area where he had killed a man inside a business. The suspect exited his vehicle in what the chief termed an “ambush-style” attack.
