A Tennessee woman has been charged in a wrong-way crash that killed Officer Destin Legieza of the Brentwood (TN) Police Department late last week.
According to ABC News, the female driver involved in the head-on vehicle collision with Officer Legieza's patrol car—identified as 24-year-old Ashley Kroese—was served with a warrant charging her with felony vehicular homicide (a Class B Felony) as she recovered from non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
Upon her release from the hospital, Kroese will be transported to a jail pending an initial court appearance, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said in a statement.

Officer Legieza—a third-generation law enforcement officer—had served with the Brentwood Police Department for five years and is the first officer serving that agency to die in the line of duty.
