Former Dallas SWAT officer Michael Witzgall has been named HAIX Hero of the Month for April. Witzgall served with the Dallas Police Department until a serious injury led to his medical retirement and the amputation of his left leg.

Former Dallas SWAT officer Michael Witzgall has been named HAIX Hero of the Month for April. Witzgall served with the Dallas Police Department until a serious injury led to his medical retirement and the amputation of his left leg.

Former Dallas SWAT officer, now trainer, Michael Witzgall has been named HAIX Hero of the Month.
Witzgall served with Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance and as an Army officer before joining the Dallas PD. He became a law enforcement trainer after his retirement and is now the lead instructor and co-owner of Charlie Mike Enterprises in Cedar Hill, TX. The company specializes in training officers in tactical operations.
His friend Chris Anderson nominated Witzgall for HAIX Hero of the Month honors. He wrote on the entry form: "[Michael] diligently keeps up to date on new ways to approach problems in policing today with leadership and proactive efforts rather than a reactive approach. He applies his military training to this as well. He has [taught] many students over the years who have thanked him for everything he has taught them [and said it] kept them alive.
Witzgall was selected as HAIX Hero of the Month through votes (Likes) on POLICE Magazine's Facebook page .
As HAIX Hero of the Month, Michael Witzgall will receive a pair of HAIX boots.
