Wisconsin Officer Dumpster Dives to Find Marine Veteran's Missing Wallet

An officer with the Madison (WI) Police Department went above and beyond during an investigation of a stolen wallet taken from a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

For a week, the officer followed up on the investigation, eventually arresting the suspected thief. He then learned that the missing wallet might have been located at the bottom of a dumpster.

Undaunted, the officer dove in to retrieve the stolen property.

The agency posted images of the good deed to Facebook with the caption, "Recently Officer Buccellato had a theft case where a disabled Marine Veteran had his wallet stolen. After a great investigation of around a week, he arrested suspect, and, as you can see from the photos, got his wallet back."
