WI Officer Critically Wounded in Traffic Stop Shootout

A Greenfield, WI, police officer is in critical condition, and a Milwaukee man is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning.

The incident began at 1:30 Sunday morning. According to police, officers stopped 31-year-old Tyran Lamb. Lamb reportedly took off. A few miles away, Lamb crashed. Cellphone video from the scene shows officers approaching Lamb's car and ordering him to show his hands then gunfire erupts.

Authorities say dozens of shots were exchanged between Greenfield police officers and Lamb, CBS58 .

A 36-year-old Greenfield police officer was shot multiple times and critically injured.

Greenfield police said the officer underwent another surgery Monday morning at Froedtert Hospital. The officer is reportedly stable.
