WI Deputy Shot, Suicidal Subject Killed

Wood County, WI, Sheriff Shawn Becker said one of his deputies was shot while responding to the report of a suicidal person Tuesday night in Arpin. The suicidal subject was killed.

The Department of Justice says the person they were called to check on was shot and died after grabbing a knife, and struggling with law enforcement, WSAW reports.

The wounded deputy is in stable condition. Wood County Sheriff Becker did not release the deputy’s name, but said he was shot in the upper torso and arm area.
