The Charleston (WV) Police Department has arrested a man who reportedly shot a police officer after escaping custody.

Around 2:30 Saturday afternoon Ogle escaped Montgomery Police custody. Charleston Police were called in to help catch Ogle. A Charleston Officer ended up in a scuffle with Ogle in the alleyway behind the hospital. The suspect shot the Charleston Police Officer with the a Montgomery Police Officer's firearm, police say.

Chief Steve Cooper said Bryan Lee Ogle II, was wanted out of Tennessee when he got picked up by the Montgomery (WV) Police Department. Officers there arrested Bogle after a pursuit last week. Ogle was being treated at CAMC after sustaining injuries during his arrest in Montgomery.

Chief Cooper is not yet releasing the name of the officer shot, but says he is OK, WOWK TV reports.
