WatchGuard Video has announced the release of Cloud-Share, a new application within its evidence management software platform, Evidence Library 4 Web, that allows locally-stored digital evidence to be shared efficiently and securely without the cost of producing evidence DVDs or storing files in the cloud indefinitely.
Cloud-Share is the most efficient way to share digital evidence,” stated Steve Coffman, president of WatchGuard Video. “Agencies who routinely dispatch evidence DVDs to other organizations, such as a district attorney’s office, will find it easier, faster and more cost-efficient to share copies of evidence files using Cloud-Share.”
Law Enforcement agencies use Cloud-Share to temporarily share copies of locally-stored digital evidence in the cloud. An individual, or members of a distribution group can be invited to view or download a shared file based on access permissions granted by the agency, thus eliminating the need to produce and distribute evidence DVDs. Additionally, agencies can assign an expiration date to each shared file, removing the worry and cost of storing evidence in the cloud indefinitely.
“Our evidence technician has been thrilled with how simple it is to use,” commented Southlake PD Patrol Commander Lieutenant Randy Thomas. “It’s been a fantastic solution for our department.”
