The Utah Highway Patrol is looking to hire 100 new troopers, and on Saturday took to the 2018 Utah International Auto Expo to recruit prospective candidates.
The agency presented its vintage patrol car at the expo while troopers took advantage to talk to interested parties about job opportunities.
“We want to hire a lot of good people and we need some help,” UHP Cpl. Jayson McCleve told KSL.com.
The combination of a growing state population and the crackdown in Salt Lake City’s embattled Rio Grande neighborhood has led to an increased need for more UHP manpower. The trick is finding those who can and want to do the job, McCleve said.
