Video: Texas Police Chief Saves Baby's Life

A baby in Montgomery County, TX, was saved by a police chief's quick actions Friday.

Splendora Independent School District Police Chief Rex Evans was on routine patrol, driving from school to school around 2 p.m. when a panicked family flagged him down at a traffic light. The family in a minivan told him they had a baby inside who was not breathing.

The dramatic bodycam video shows Evans pull the baby from the van and start CPR, reports the Houston Chronicle . Just as paramedics pulled up, the baby started breathing again.

"It was such a relief to hear that baby cry," Evans said. "... It hits you right in the heart."
