Video: Suspects Arraigned in Murder of Kentucky Officer
Raleigh Sizemore, 34, is charged with the murder of Officer Daniel Ellis, who died Friday. Sizemore is also charged with the attempted murder of two police officers. Police said in an arrest citation that Sizemore admitted to shooting Officer Ellis.
The four people arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a Richmond police officer were arraigned Monday.
Raleigh Sizemore, 34, is charged with the murder of Officer Daniel Ellis, who died Friday. Sizemore is also charged with the attempted murder of two police officers. Police said in an arrest citation that Sizemore admitted to shooting Officer Ellis.
Authorities have said Ellis was investigating a robbery, when his investigation led him to a home on Ballard Drive in Richmond. Gregory Ratliff opened the front door to Officer Ellis, which is when police say he lied and told Ellis the home was empty. Sizemore was hiding at the back of the home, and police said he shot Ellis on sight.
Ratliff is charged with complicity to commit murder. Two others, Rita Creech and Carl Banks, are charged with their role in the robbery Ellis had been investigating.
All four entered not guilty pleas Monday in Madison County court, WKYT TV reports.
