Video: Struck Mich. Cop Pursues Suspect
A man stopped for speeding was taken to jail after he struck a Columbia Township (Mich.) Police officer, as well as his cruiser, and led the officer on a high-speed pursuit.
A man stopped for speeding was taken to jail after he struck a Columbia Township (Mich.) Police officer, as well as his cruiser, and led the officer on a high-speed pursuit.
Officer Rick Rodden stopped the 47-year-old man on Constitution Avenue near Marshall Street. Video from Officer Rodden's dashboard camera shows the man exit his vehicle, approach the officer, and return to his vehicle to get his driver's license. The officer puts one leg in front of the man's vehicle. The man then takes off, knocking the officer down, and later sideswiping the patrol car.
Officer Rodden pursued the man and took him into custody in the front yard of a residence.
