When El Monte, CA, Officers responded to a call of a child not breathing, they found he was choking and used a LifeVac to dislodge an obstruction and save his life. Body-worn camera video released by police showed their life-saving efforts.

Bodycam video showed Officer Rauel Vega pick up the little boy and run with him to his patrol car, where he knew there was a LifeVac. The specialized device is used to clear obstructed airways when someone is choking.
The rubber mouthpiece creates a seal over the mouth and lets a rescuer thrust the handle of the LifeVac up and down to clear an obstruction.
Together with another officer, Vega worked with the LifeVac until paramedics arrived, reports FOX11.
The boy started breathing just before being placed in an ambulance.
"When he woke up and he started crying," Vega said. "You know, that was the best. My partner and I just, we teared up."
