Denver police officer John Adsit is returning to work Wednesday for the first time since a near-life ending accident.
A driver hit and dragged Adsit while he was on duty on his bicycle in December 2014. He was escorting East High School students back toward school along Colfax Avenue after they protested downtown.
Adsit went through 18 surgeries and will likely need four more, CBS4 reports. He is expected to return to duty for a few hours per day at first.
