A Warren County (Ohio) Sheriff's deputy was struck and killed early Tuesday morning by a reckless driver while laying down stop sticks to halt a high-speed pursuit.
The incident began shortly before 2 a.m., when Franklin Police officers began pursuing a speeding driver heading east on State Route 73 toward Waynesville. The vehicle turned south on State Route 42 and began traveling in the northbound lanes, running a Warren County Sheriff's deputy off the road and nearly striking a second deputy's cruiser.
