Video: NY State Trooper Dies After Being Hit by Car
Trooper Timothy Pratt went out to assist an 18-wheeler that was stopped in the median on Ballard Road, right in front of the state police barracks, and did not see an oncoming car.

A New York State trooper died Wednesday morning after he was hit by a car outside of the police barracks, reports WNYT.
Troop G commander Major William Keeler says Trooper Timothy Pratt went out to assist an 18-wheeler that was stopped in the median on Ballard Road, right in front of the state police barracks, and did not see an oncoming car. The driver of the passing car apparently didn't see him either. That's when he was hit.
He was taken to Saratoga Hospital with serious injuries and then flown to Albany Medical Center. Shortly after that, police confirmed that Trooper Pratt had died.
Trooper Pratt was 55 years old. He was a 29-year veteran of law enforcement and previously served in the Air Force. He leaves behind a fiancée, two sons, and a daughter.
