Video: NC Ranger Dragged 30 Feet, Driver Charged
Rangers said a man impatient to enter Crowders Mountain State Park in Gaston County, NC, dragged a park ranger with his car Sunday.
Rangers said a man impatient to enter Crowders Mountain State Park in Gaston County, NC, dragged a park ranger with his car Sunday.
As a ranger was talking to him, John Bolin drove away with the ranger holding onto the vehicle door handle, dragging him for 30 feet, reports WSOC-TV .
Gastonia police later stopped Bolin, who was driving with a car full of people. Bolin was charged with using the car as a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana.
The ranger needed medical attention.
The rangers are certified law enforcement officers, but there are only six of them. There was an estimated 10,380 people at the park Sunday, and vehicles were lined up waiting to enter.
