North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers stopped a 12-year-old girl who had led officers on a pursuit on Monday that began in South Carolina.

The girl allegedly stole her father's pick-up truck in Gaffney. At about 10:45 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spotted the truck and called state troopers for assistance, reports the Charlotte Observer .
The girl led officers north on Interstate 77. Surveillance cameras captured part of the pursuit, which reached speeds of more than 70 mph, reports WSOC . Troopers were able to surround the truck and force her off the road near Interstate 85.
