A nationwide manhunt is under way for John Williams, who is suspected of murdering a Somerset County (ME) Sheriff's deputy Wednesday. He is believed to be hiding in the woods of Maine.

The Somerset County, ME, sheriff is asking a man sought in the killing of a deputy to turn himself in.
“This was a senseless act against a committed public servant,” Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster said.
Sheriff Lancaster says 175 to 200 officers are helping search for John Williams, WGME TV reports.
