Aftermath K-9 Grants are awarded by Aftermath, a company that specializes in trauma cleanup and biohazard removal. The winners are selected based on a popular vote. Five grants will be awarded this year annually ranging from $5,000 for first place to $1,000 for fifth place for a total of $15,000. People can vote for their favorite K-9 units at https://www.aftermath.com/k9-grant/ .
The company says, "More than 3,000 law enforcement organizations participated in last year’s K-9 Grant, earning a combined 152,000 votes from officers and community members."
The Alamogordo (NM( Police Department won the $5,000 grant and used it to build the city’s first K-9 unit. Aftermath also awarded smaller grants to the Pekin (IL) Police Department, the Matteson (IL) Police Department, Johnson City Village (NY) Police Department, and the Larksville Boro (PA) Police Department.
