Video: Md. County Pays $3.6M Settlement In Police Assault Case
Prince George's County, Md., has agreed to pay $3.6 million to 10 students who claimed they were assaulted or wrongfully arrested during post-game rioting on the University of Maryland campus in 2010.
Prince George's County, Md., has agreed to pay $3.6 million to 10 students who claimed they were assaulted or wrongfully arrested during post-game rioting on the University of Maryland campus in 2010.
About $2 million will go to Jack McKenna, who was seen on video being struck by officers' batons after he approached mounted officers.
The settlements were reached before a jury found Officer James Harrison guilty of second-degree assault for his role in the recorded beating. The same jury found Officer Reginald Baker not guilty, reports CBS Baltimore.
