Video: Man Drives Truck Into Sheriff's Office, Fires Shots
A man drove his pickup truck into the Wayne Hitt Law Enforcement Center in Sinton, Texas, then shot at the building.

A man drove his pickup truck into the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office Wayne Hitt Law Enforcement Center in Sinton, Texas, reports the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
The suspect, 45-year-old Benito Gonzales, drove a blue Dodge pickup into the sheriff’s office building about 7:40 a.m., Sheriff Leroy Moody said. The man used a .45 caliber pistol to fire at least four shots at the building, located in the 300 block of North Rachal Street, Moody added.
A deputy fired three shots at the man and struck him twice, he said. No county employees were injured, but the man was taken to a Corpus Christi hospital, where he underwent surgery and later died.
“Those of us in the building thought there had been an explosion from the noise,” Moody said.
Gonzales, a Sinton resident who was from Orange Grove, has no apparent connection to the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office, Moody said.
