A Bolingbrook, Ill., officer is being investigated by the department after video surfaced this week reportedly showing the officer playing video poker while driving a squad car.
The video, which was posted on YouTube, shows a snow-crusted Bolingbrook police car and focuses on the interior computer monitor, which appears to show video poker. The officer’s face is not visible in the video.
Police spokesman Lt. Michael Rompa told the Chicago Tribune officials became aware of the video via social media.
"The officer in this video has been identified," Rompa said this afternoon. "Due to the seriousness of this incident, the Bolingbrook Police Department has placed this under an internal investigation."
