
VIDEO: High-Speed Pursuit Leads Ohio Troopers to Find Kidnap Victim
A kidnapping victim was rescued Thursday following a high-speed pursuit that began with an Ohio trooper being dragged in Warren County and ended in a crash in Hamilton County.

A kidnapping victim was rescued Thursday following a high-speed pursuit that began with an Ohio trooper being dragged in Warren County and ended in a crash in Hamilton County, reports WHIO.
Just after noon, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a reckless driver on southbound Interstate 71 near Ohio 48 in Warren County. A passenger, Barbara McCain, 51, of Tiltonsville, OH, indicated to the trooper she needed help, according to a media release.
The driver, Thomas Gorman, 54, of Lakeland, FL, reportedly accelerated rapidly, dragging the trooper a short distance as he fled with McCain, officials said.
The trooper pursued the vehicle south on I-71 to westbound I-275. Gorman reportedly lost control of his vehicle and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Gorman is charged with kidnapping, felonious assault, simple assault, fleeing and eluding and reckless operation. He’s in the Warren County Jail. Bond is more than $700,000.
McCain had minor injuries from an assault by Gorman. She has since been reunited with her family. Troopers also suffered minor injuries while apprehending Gorman, according to the highway patrol.
