Video: Ga. Troopers Pursue Baby Kidnapper
During the pursuit, Samantha Nicole Barrett attempted to ram a trooper's vehicle before crashing into an embankment a mile west of Interstate 75 in Lamar County.

Georgia State Patrol troopers pursued and eventually arrested a 22-year-old who had kidnapped an 8-month-old baby on Wednesday in Bartow County.
During the pursuit,Samantha Nicole Barrett attempted to ram a trooper's vehicle before crashing into an embankment a mile west of Interstate 75 in Lamar County.
The incident began Tuesday evening, when Kristen Howard said she would drive Barrett to the store. Howard left her infant son, Kaidyn Stover, in her gray 2003 Ford Taurus while she went inside to get a lighter. When she came outside, her car was gone, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
After a state Amber Alert was issued, a woman reported spotting the Taurus. Georgia troopers responded and began pursuing the vehicle at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
Troopers and Butts County Sheriff's deputies used stop sticks to slow down the vehicle. Barrett attempted to flee on foot after the crash but was arrested.
The baby was initially returned to Howard and then taken into custody by the Division of Family and Children Services, reports WXIA.
