Newly released dash-cam video shows the chaotic scene during a task force raid in January that resulted in the death of an Ogden (Utah) Police officer and the wounding of five other officers.
The dash-cam video, which was obtained by the Standard-Examiner, shows officers arriving at the home of Matthew Stewart, 37, for the Jan. 4 drug raid. Officers arrived at 8:42 p.m.
The footage shows officers arriving at the scene and being warned by a dispatcher that "shots are being fired in the area." Ten shots can be heard at 8:44 p.m.
Officers emerge from the darkness and one can be heard saying, "Let me get my vest." A barrage of more that 20 shots then sound out in rapid succession. Four minutes later, officers can be seen carrying someone across the street.
In another video, officers load wounded officer Michael Rounkles into the back seat of a patrol vehicle and then rush him to a local hospital.
Stewart, who was wounded in the shootout, is accused of killing Ogden PD's Officer Jared Francom and injuring five others during the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force knock-and-announce raid.
