A 10-year-old Florida boy has a very visible way to show his support for law enforcement and honor fallen officers killed in the line of duty. When he hears of a duty death, he grabs his Blue Line flag and takes to the sidewalk for a one-mile run.
The boy—named Zechariah Cartledge—has done this for every fallen officer, according to WKRG-TV , starting in 2018.
On Sunday, Zechariah had just finished his run to honor 44-year-old Sgt. Wytasha Carter—a Birmingham officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty—when he heard about the death of Mobile Police Officer Sean Tuder.
Zechariah has a Facebook page, Running for Heroes , where he does a live video for all his runs and recognizes who the run is honoring.
