Authorities have identified an Orange County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office deputy who was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in the line of duty as Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine.
Authorities have identified an Orange County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office deputy who was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in the line of duty as Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine, reports wftv.
Investigators said the 34-year-old deputy was responding to reports of car break-ins on Westminster Abbey Boulevard, in the area of Conroy Windermere and South Apopka Vineland roads.
Investigators said Pine immediately called out the suspect's description over the radio and engaged him in an investigatory stop, but moments later, the suspect fled.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Pine chased the suspect through the backyard of a residence and collapsed after the suspect allegedly shot him.
