Boynton Beach (Fla.) Police officers who shot and killed a bank robbery suspect at the end of a pursuit have been cleared by the state's attorney's office, reports the Palm Beach Post.
Criminal charges will not be filed against Officers Eric Reynolds and Christopher Munro, who shot Calvin Wallace in June after he robbed a Delray Beach bank.
The Boynton Beach P.D. released dashcam video showing officers pursuing Wallace's red Lincoln Town Car. Officers on the lookout for the vehicle pursued Wallace until he crashed into another vehicle while attempting to turn left on a residential street.
Wallace opened the door of the Lincoln and began firing at Officers Reynolds and Munro, who returned fire, killing Wallace. A round from Wallace struck Officer Reynolds in the foot, reports WPTV.
On Aug. 23, the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office ruled the officers were "justifiably in fear for their safety when they returned fire."
