Video: Father of NY Bombing Suspect Says He Reported Son to FBI in 2014
The father of accused terrorist bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami says he contacted the feds in 2014 when his son turned violent after he returned to New Jersey from a trip to Afghanistan.

The father of accused terrorist bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami says he contacted the feds in 2014 when his son turned violent after he returned to New Jersey from a trip to Afghanistan.
“Two years ago, I called the FBI,” Mohammad Rahami said Tuesday outside his First American Fried Chicken takeout restaurant. “My son, he’s doing really bad, OK?”
The FBI, after a two-month probe, told the father Ahmad was “clear — he’s not (a) terrorist,” the elder Rahami said. “Now (they) say he’s a terrorist. I say OK.”
The father recounted reaching out to the FBI after Ahmad stabbed his brother Nasim in an unprovoked attack and attacked his mother. Officials said Ahmad Rahami spent two months in jail for that attack, but the case collapsed when a family member recanted the stabbing allegation.
A source told the New York Daily News Mohammad Rahami had initially told the FBI his son was a terrorist — although he later told the feds that he was mistaken.
Rahami, who shot two police officers, remained behind bars Tuesday on $5.2 million bail.
Rahami was arrested Monday morning after getting into a gunfight with police in Linden, N.J., where he injured Officers Angel Padilla and Peter Hammer.
