Video: Dashcam Captures Idaho Police Shooting
He was warned repeatedly to stay away from the gun and then ordered to drop it once he had it in his hand. Mandarino was shot by one of the officers.

On June 12 just after 11 a.m., Shoshone County (Idaho) Sheriff's Dep. Adam Durflinger stopped to investigate a parked car on I-90 near Lookout Pass. Inside the vehicle, he discovered Alexander Mandarino, 26, of Whitefish, Mont. Mandarino had been sleeping on the side of the road, KHQ TV reports.
Dep. Durflinger called in the plates on the vehicle, an Orange Scion, and Idaho State Police Trooper Todd McDevitt arrived to provide backup. The two officers questioned Mandarino for nearly 30 minutes.
Mandarino was escorted back to his car and then he got in and reached for a handgun. He was warned repeatedly to stay away from the gun and then ordered to drop it once he had it in his hand. Mandarino was shot by one of the officers.
Both officers administered CPR at the scene, but Mandarino was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
Last week the Shoshone County Prosecuting Attorney ruled that the shooting was justified. The dashcam video was released earlier this week.
