VIDEO: Dash Cam Footage of Shooting Incident Released in Charlotte Officer's Manslaughter Trial

On Wednesday, jurors in the voluntary manslaughter trial of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Officer Randall Wes Kerrick saw for the first time dramatic dash cam video from the nighttime incident where Kerrick shot and killed Jonathon Ferrell. The video does not show the actual shooting, but it captures the sound.

Officer Adam Neal, whose car captured the dash cam video, described what can't be seen on the video, saying that after the initial volley of shots, Jonathan Ferrell's upper body fell on Officer Kerrick's legs, the two men then fell into a ditch and continued to be engaged, WCNC TV reports.

Neal explained that when you hear additional shots fired, Ferrell was trying to crawl up on Kerrick's body in a swimming-like movement.

Neal said he didn't hear any of the commands such as "get on the ground," perhaps indicating what a chaotic scene it was.

"I see red dots on him, he's moving. From this distance, I couldn't tell if it was moving left, right or back and forth," Neal testified.

But Officer Adam Neal says Jonathon Ferrell appears to be walking until the moment those red dots, indicating the taser, appear on his body. "At this point [Ferrell] started charging," Neal continued.
