Video: California Officer Shot in Head After Pursuit
An Antioch, CA, police officer was reportedly shot in nearby Pittsburg Wednesday night after a carjacking and pursuit, police said.

An Antioch, CA, police officer was reportedly shot in nearby Pittsburg Wednesday night after a carjacking and pursuit, police said.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m., according to Pittsburg police Capt. Ron Raman.
The officer is now out of the hospital, police said. But Contra Costa County fire said at least four people were taken to the hospital after a car crash at the intersection at the time of the shooting, reports KRON .
The officer was shot in the head but his injuries are not life-threatening. He has since been released.
The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed the car at Leland and Loveridge, where the shooting happened, police said.
As officers approached the suspect, he shot and injured one officer, police said. Officers then shot at the suspect, and he surrendered. The suspect was not hurt, according to officers.
Seven vehicles were involved in a car accident at the same intersection at the time of the shooting, according to fire marshal Robert Marshall. No word if the vehicle accidents were a result of the shooting or if the shooting occurred after the accidents.
