Video: Body Recovered in Dallas Creek Believed to Be SMU Officer Swept Away in July Flood
An SMU officer who has searched the area specifically for McCullers three times a week since he was swept away found the body.
The Dallas Police Department, along with Southern Methodist University police, recovered a body Wednesday afternoon at the Turtle Creek viaduct near downtown.
The question remains whether or not the body is that of missing SMU police officer Mark McCullers, 43. However, the body was draped in an American flag and an impromptu procession happened as it was taken away, DFW CBS reports.

Officer McCullers was swept away in Turtle Creek during flooding on July 5. The creek was filled with rainwater when Officer McCullers asked for help just after 1:30 a.m. that Tuesday. He was working an overnight private security job when he called police and said rising waters were washing over his car. By the time emergency crews arrived there was no sign of McCullers or his white Dodge.
