Video: 2 in Custody Over Shooting of Arizona DPS Officer
Police arrested Ramon Bueno, 39, and Danny Angel Vargas, 26, Wednesday at a home, bringing to an end a week long manhunt that started when DPS officer James Casey was shot in the face during a traffic stop.

A combination of tips, surveillance, and dogged police work led investigators to a home in northeast Phoenix on Wednesday night where they located and arrested the final two suspects in the attempted murder of an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer, law-enforcement officials said at a news conference Thursday morning.
Police arrested Ramon Bueno, 39, and Danny Angel Vargas, 26, Wednesday at a home, bringing to an end a weeklong manhunt that started when DPS officer James Casey was shot in the face during a traffic stop.
Bueno walked with a limp as he was escorted into the Fourth Avenue Jail on Thursday morning. The second suspect, Angel Vargas, remains hospitalized, AZCentral.com reports. How the suspects were injured was not released.
Investigators believe that Casey was trying to get information from passengers in the back of a blue Mercury Sable he had stopped early in the morning on Oct. 8 near Interstate 17 and McDowell Road, said Sgt. Trent Crump, a Phoenix police spokesman.
There were five people in the car, police believe, and as Casey was talking with Bueno, a shot was fired that struck the six-year DPS veteran officer in the face, Crump said.
The vehicle's driver, who police did not identify, told officers that Bueno had a gun to her head and forced her to drive away, Crump said.
