Officer Tyler Skinner was patrolling an area near a football field around 3:30 a.m. Sunday when he noticed a white male wearing dark clothing and stopped to speak with the individual.

Chief Kevin Coley said Skinner is doing well.
The City of Wilson is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot the officer.
