As many as four people were taken to a Fresno hospital today after a holed-up arson suspect shot at deputies and a fire investigator serving an arrest warrant.
All were taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
One Fresno County sheriff's deputy was killed and another injured. A Reedley police officer also was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a wound to the head, officials said.

One Fresno County sheriff's deputy was in critical condition after being shot in the side under his armpit. A Reedley police officer also was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a wound to the head, officials said.
A third officer, a sheriff's deputy, had a gunshot wound to the shoulder and his condition was not known.
A fourth ambulance transported an unknown person with wounds to the hospital.
One of the wounded men from the sheriff's department has died. He was a detective. His name has not been released.
About 200 officers from nearly a dozen agencies have responded to the shooting.
