Law enforcement officers from Southern Texas—including contingents from the Mission Police Department, the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office, and the US Customs and Border Protection—were among a "sea of law enforcement" who attended the first football game to be played by the 13-year-old son of a Mission PD officer killed in the line of duty in June.
According to Fox News , Corporal Jose Espericueta had been looking forward to seeing his son play in his first seventh-grade football game but he was killed before he got that opportunity.
