A Pearland, TX, police officer is dead following a head-on car collision Sunday morning with another vehicle, according to authorities.
Officer Endy Ekpanya was driving down FM 518 en route to a non-emergency call when a woman driving a gray Chrysler SRT crossed several middle lanes near Liberty Drive. Investigators said the woman hit Ekpanya's vehicle head-on, pinning both drivers in their cars.
Ekpanya was airlifted to Memorial Herman Hospital, where he later died, Click2Houston reports.
The woman was not seriously injured.
Texas Department of Public Safety officers are investigating.
