Texas Officer Injured in Crash Making "Remarkable Progress"

A motor officer with the El Paso Police Department who was injured in a traffic collision late last week is said to be making "remarkable progress" in recovery.

According to the El Paso Times , Officer Daniel Rodriguez was struck and run over by an SUV while escorting a funeral procession.

A Dodge Durango driven by 41-year-old Nicole Anne Pabon made a left turn, cut through the procession and struck Officer Rodriguez, police say.

Rodriguez has undergone several surgeries since being struck on Thursday morning.
