Texas Deputy Dies of Injuries from On-Duty Crash

Dep. Adam Davis, 36, of the Bell County (Texas) Sheriff's Department has succumbed to injuries sustained in an on-duty single-car crash last week, reports NBC affiliate KCEN .

The crash occurred Dec. 1, and Davis had been in critical condition with serious head trauma until he died this morning at Scott & White Hospital. He was responding to a report of a man with a gun when his patrol car left the roadway at a curve in the road and flipped end over end several times.

Davis had been a reserve deputy with the Bell County Sheriff's Department since 2007 and was hired full time in August, reports KWTX .
