Texas Department Adds Dedicated Narcotics Unit

The New Boston (TX) Police Department has added a new division to its ranks dedicated to drug enforcement efforts in the region.

According to ArkLaTex.com , the new division is being added in response to requests from the community who have been providing tips about drug trafficking in the city and requests from those citizens for the agency to "do something about it."

The agency now has enforcement efforts both on city streets as well as on the interstate highway that runs through the area and is suspected to be a thoroughfare for large shipments of illegal narcotics.

The department is now in the process of finding funding for a K-9 to add to their narcotics unit.
