Tampa Cop Killer Dontae Morris In Custody

A person identified only as an associate of Morris helped arrange the surrender. The associate then brought Morris to a pre-determined location, where police were waiting to take him into custody.

Dontae Morris, suspected of shooting and killing two Tampa police officers during a vehicle stop, turned himself in to police late Friday.

Morris, 24, gave up peacefully, Lt. Stephen Lee told ABC News. A person identified only as an associate of Morris helped arrange the surrender. The associate then brought Morris to a pre-determined location, where police were waiting to take him into custody.

The associate is eligible for the $100,000 reward offered by Tampa PD for his arrest.

Morris allegedly shot and killed officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis , who had pulled him over. Morris was wanted on an outstanding warrant and is a suspect in three additional murders.
