Suit Claims Chicago Cops Punch First, 'Ask Questions Later'

A Chicago man has sued a city officer, claiming he was beaten and arrested, after questioning the use of force against his neighbors in 2009.

The complaint alleges LaMonte Simmons' constitutional rights were violated on Aug. 3, 2009. Simmons was visiting his neighbors when he claims he witnessed officers using a choke-hold on a 16-year-old.

Apparently, Simmons and a group of neighbors questioned the officers. The suit alleges an officer then punched Simmons in the face.

"They punch and ask questions later," Simmons said of police during the press conference this afternoon at his lawyer's office.
