Streamlight Inc., provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, has introduced the ultra-lightweight ProTac 1AAA, the latest addition to the ProTac series of tactical handheld lights. The new light uses one easily sourced AAA alkaline battery, and delivers up to 70 lumens measured system output and 550 candela peak beam intensity.

Compact and versatile, the ProTac 1AAA also offers high and low intensity modes, a strobe feature, and the latest in C4 LED technology. Its Ten-Tap programmable switch allows users to select one of three programs: high/low/strobe (the factory default), high only, or low/high. The light delivers 30 minutes of continuous run time on high over a beam distance of 47 meters, 11 hours on low, and 1.2 hours in strobe mode, using an alkaline battery. For an extended run time, a lithium AAA battery can be used.

"The combination of the ProTac 1AAA's small size and output makes it a great light for tactical, first responder, industrial personnel and consumers alike," said Streamlight Director of Product Management Greg Roshak. "It's perfect, for example, for examining a patient at an accident scene, troubleshooting repairs, checking a driver's license, or for use around a campsite under low-light conditions. It's easy to clip to a pocket or vest, store in your glove compartment or tool kit, carry in its holster or wear around your neck with the included lanyard."

The light uses a C4 LED with a 50,000-hour lifetime, which is impervious to shock. It features 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum construction with an anodized finish, and includes a convenient multi-function, push-button tactical tail cap switch for easy, one-handed operation of the momentary, variable intensity, or strobe modes.

Similar to other lights in the ProTac series, the ProTac 1AAA is extremely thin and easy to carry, weighing 1.3 ounces and measuring 3.94 inches in length. It features an anti-roll face cap and a removable pocket clip for attaching the light to a vest, belt, or pocket. It also has an IPX7 rated design for waterproof operation to one meter for 30 minutes and is impact-resistance tested to one meter.

Available in black, the ProTac 1AAA includes Streamlight's Limited Lifetime Warranty, a AAA battery, a ballistic nylon holster, and neck lanyard. It has an MSRP of $48.
