South Carolina Detention Deputy Charged with Impersonating Police Officer

A detention deputy with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is facing charges that he impersonated a law enforcement officer and had installed a police light bar on his vehicle, according to WCSC-TV News .

Court records indicate that Ken Charpia Duncan faces charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer and unauthorized use of signal lights for emergency vehicles.

The incident reportedly occurred on Thanksgiving.

Following reports of the incident, Duncan was reportedly fired from his job at the Charleston County Sheriff's Office on Monday

Police say that Duncan was wearing his uniform at the time of the incident, but is not a sworn law enforcement officer.
