The man convicted of shooting and wounding an officer with the Saginaw Township Police Department was scheduled to receive his sentence on Wednesday afternoon but that proceeding will take place another day.
According to the Saginaw News, attorneys for Joshua Rosebush asked for an adjournment of Rosebush’s sentencing on several grounds, among them that they are seeking to file a motion for a new trial.
Saginaw County Assistant Prosecutor Blair Stevenson objected to the adjournment but Saginaw County Circuit Judge Andre Borrello allowed it, saying he was not going to rush to sentencing.
In October, a jury issued guilty verdicts on 26 charges against 30-year-old Rosebush in relation to the shooting of Officer Jeff Koenig during a traffic stop in January. During the incident, Rosebush reportedly drew a handgun, said "Night, night" to Koenig, and shot him in the face.

After the shooting, Rosebush fled the scene and proceeded to commit crimes across three counties.
Among the convictions the jury handed down were attempted murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, vehicle theft, resisting arrest, receiving or concealing stolen property, and weapons crimes.
