Seattle Police Seek to Bolster Recruitment and Retention with $1.6M Plan

Incentives to keep officers from leaving will include striking unsubstantiated complaints from personnel records in a "clear my card" program.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan on Tuesday unveiled a $1.6 million plan to bolster Seattle’s recruitment and retention of police officers. The plan is intended to address a widening gap between departures and new hires.

According to the Seattle Times , the new strategies to attract more officers will include recruiting laterals from other agencies.
