A rookie officer with the Upland Borough Police Department is being called a hero after he saved an unresponsive newborn’s life Sunday. Officer Jonathan Keeney says he was just doing his job.
Charmaine Freeman had just finished feeding the baby and was burping her when the child became limp. She called 911 and Officer Jonathan Keeney raced to the home to perform life-saving first aid.

She called 911 and officer Jonathan Keeney—just 21 years old and very new to the force—raced to the home. Keeney then performed life-saving first aid, and the child regained consciousness.
"Officer Keeney came speeding to the rescue, jumped out, and I want to say he jumped right into action, took her out of my arms, and he performed a miracle because my baby wasn't breathing," Freeman said.
